Web Design: Getting Started

Four steps to a successful website
The best websites are more than just an “online brochure.” They are living, breathing, 24/7 sales tools. Armstrong|Shank does more than just design your website — we go through a true strategic planning process to ensure that the website we create meets and furthers your company’s goals.
1. Pre-production: First, our account strategists meet with you to discuss the objectives of your site, your key audiences and the desired outcomes you’re looking for. We’ll study analytics reports to find key Web trends for your business, and as an industry as a whole. Analyzing these helps us determine the right direction for the creative concept of the site, and what technology is most appropriate for executing that concept. Then, in conjunction with your input, we’ll work to develop a site map that will guide the project the rest of the way.
2. Production: Once you’ve approved the site map, we’ll create the initial visual concepts for the site. This will define the navigation structure, content areas and more. Once that visual concept has been approved, we’ll begin building the actual site and integrating content, and, if applicable, content management systems.
3. Maintenance: After the site has been designed and all content entered, we rigorously test the site for any bugs, and then submit it to you for approval. If there is a content management system installed, we will train your personnel on how to use it. After final tweaks have been made, we go live with the site and hand it off to you.
4. Followup: After your site goes live, we’ll provide you an analytics report that will serve as a baseline for measuring future results. We’ll tie up any loose ends, and begin discussing the next steps in the evolution of your online marketing plan.
